  • What is a business Tikkie?

    A business Tikkie is a payment request that you send to one of your customers, either on WhatsApp or social media, or by email or text message. You decide which medium to use. The Tikkie contains a link that your customers can use to make an iDEAL payment.

  • What are the costs of a Tikkie?

    You pay €5 per month to use Tikkie, and this lets you receive payment through 20 Tikkies. If you want to receive payment through more Tikkies, the price per Tikkie depends on the total number per month:

    • 21-100 Tikkies paid per month: €0.25 per transaction

    • 101-500 Tikkies paid per month: €0.20 per transaction

    • More than 500 Tikkies paid per month: €0.15 per transaction

  • How do I send a Tikkie?

    There are 4 ways to send a Tikkie, depending on your settings and the features you’ve chosen. For instance, you can have your customers scan a QR code, or share a link with them on WhatsApp or by email or text message. You’re free to choose what works for you. Please note! If you send Tikkies through our portal and you’ve enabled sharing by text message, you’ll pay 10 cents for each text message sent.

  • What do I need to send a Tikkie?

    All you need is an ABN AMRO business account. If you already have an ABN AMRO business account, request Tikkie right away. You’ll be able to get started within 2 days. If you don’t yet have an ABN AMRO business account, simply fill in the form. We’d be happy to help you with your request.

  • How do I apply for Tikkie for companies?

    You can easily request Tikkie for business online by filling in this form, but you will need an ABN AMRO business account. If you don’t yet have an ABN AMRO business account, fill in this request form. We’ll get in touch with you to help you further.

  • What is the highest amount for a Tikkie?

    The standard maximum amount for a Tikkie is €5000. You can also receive a maximum of €15,000 per IBAN each day. If you want to send and receive higher amounts, please email tikkie.business.support@nl.abnamro.com.

  • What is the maximum amount I can receive each day?

    You can receive a maximum of €15,000 each day per IBAN. If you reach this limit, the payer will be asked to try again the next day. For example, you send 11 Tikkies for €1500 each. Everyone pays the Tikkie right away, but number 11 unfortunately won’t be able to. If you want to receive more than €15,000 per day, please email tikkie.business.support@nl.abnamro.com.

  • How do I request an API key?

    Search for ‘API key’ in the developer portal. The manual shows you step by step how to create the API key.

  • How do I create a token?

    You can create a token in the Tikkie portal. Go to the cogwheel in the top right corner and click Settings. Select APIs and then Create token. If you don’t have access to the Tikkie portal yet, request Tikkie first. You will need an ABN AMRO business account to do so.

  • What is the difference between sandbox and production?

    They are two different environments. The sandbox is meant for testing the API, so you don’t use actual money for instance. This will let you see quickly if the API is right for your company. In the production environment, you create actual automatic payment requests.

  • How do I go to production?

    Search for ‘production access’ in the developer portal. The manual shows you step by step how to quickly send actual Tikkies. If you don’t yet have Tikkie for business,request Tikkie first.You will need an ABN AMRO business account to do so.

  • Who is ordering and paying via QR code for?

    For owners of a hospitality business. We already support most POS systems, but if we don’t support yours yet, that’s no problem as ordering and payment using a QR code is also possible using your receipt printer.

  • How do I see if someone has paid?

    Your POS system shows when a customer has paid, though what this actually looks like depends on how your POS system works.

  • Can guests also tip?

    They sure can! Customers can decide for themselves how much they want to tip and this is added to the total amount.

  • Do my guests have to have the Tikkie app to pay?

    No, that’s not necessary. Customers pay through their own bank using iDEAL. Although we’d of course love it if they wanted to download and use the Tikkie app first! And that’s actually more convenient for your customers, as they can then send a payment request to their rest of their party right away.

  • How do I request ordering and paying via QR code?

    You can easily request ordering and payment using a QR code through Tikkie. Simply leave us your details and we’ll get in touch with you to take care of the rest.

  • Do I also have to register with Butlaroo?

    No, that’s not necessary. We’ll let Butlaroo know that you want to implement ordering and payment using a QR code. Butlaroo will then get in touch with you to discuss your options.

  • Do I pay for Tikkie and Butlaroo?

    Yes, every month you pay Butlaroo a fixed amount and you pay Tikkie transaction costs. The exact amount depends on what type of hospitality business you have, which options you select and how many payments you expect. You’ll receive a quote from us following the intake.
