You can read more about this below.
Tikkie has been developed by ABN AMRO Bank N.V., who in these Terms of Use we refer to as ‘ABN AMRO’, ‘we’ and ‘us’. ABN AMRO has its registered offices in Amsterdam and is registered in the Amsterdam Trade Register under number 34334259.ABN AMRO owns the intellectual property rights to the Tikkie app; Tikkie is a registered trademark of ABN AMRO.
What you need to know about Tikkie
You can use the Tikkie app to create payment requests and send these using messaging services like text message, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and more.
The various messaging services are not ABN AMRO services and so we are not responsible for what happens with the data sent with these messaging services. ABN AMRO has no control over the way these messaging services use your personal data. You can check out the terms and conditions and privacy statement of the messaging service you use for more information. You can only create and send payment requests if the messaging service you want to use is available.
You can enter Tikkie payment requests manually or through voice commands using Apple’s Siri voice recognition technology. If you use Siri, you should note that this is your own responsibility alone and that Apple may collect and use your data. Please refer to Apple’s terms and conditions and privacy statement for more information.
A link is generated automatically using the details you enter in the Tikkie app. The payer can use this link to easily make the requested payment using Tikkie. The payer does not need to have the Tikkie app installed in order to make the payment.
You can also see the cashback deals offered by Tikkie partners in the Tikkie app and request a cashback payment from the vendor through Tikkie after you’ve purchased their product.
At participating locations, you can also get your bottle and can deposits refunded using the Tikkie app.
What you need to know about GIFs in Tikkie
You can include your own GIF or a GIF selected from GIPHY in Tikkie. People who pay you will see your GIF on your thank-you page.
You are responsible for the GIF on your personal thank-you page, so be sure you comply with copyright laws, for example. The more fun the better, but the staff at Tikkie do not appreciate offensive or discriminatory content and will not accept this.
If you find someone’s GIF offensive, you can delete it from Tikkie by tapping the GIF and then ‘Delete GIF’. If the GIF in question is no longer displayed on your screen, you can send us a message on WhatsApp at +31 6 1376 8528. If you delete a GIF, the GIF is also immediately deleted from Tikkie.
What you need to know about Groepie
Groepie allows you to create a group with other Tikkie users to keep track of your joint expenses. You must always accept an invitation to a Groepie before joining that Groepie. You can add expenses in euros and in all other currencies. Once all the expenses are in Groepie, you can settle them among everyone in your group with a payment request. If someone needs to pay you back, someone can create a payment request for you in Groepie, so you can be paid quickly and easily. This means you don’t have to send a payment request yourself.
Anyone in a Groepie group can view all expenses. Tikkie does not check whether the expenses are correct; it’s up to the users in a group to check whether these are right.
When using foreign currencies, there may be a difference of a few cents due to the conversion and rounding of amounts. We apply the exchange rate of the date you’ve entered the expense. When entering your expense, we can apply exchange rates up to 10 days ago. If you add an expense that is more than 10 days ago, we will apply today's exchange rate. When changing the date of an expense, the exchange rate will change accordingly. The exchange rate we apply is the mid-rate provided by ABN AMRO and can be found via: https://www.abnamro.nl/en/commercialbanking/products/international-payments-treasury-management/foreign-exchange-centre.html. Therefore, the amount that we show in Groepie after conversion is an indication. If you are banking with a different bank than ABN AMRO, you may see a different amount on your account because your bank might apply a different exchange rate.
Groepie also lets you add photos. These will be visible to everyone in the Groepie group in question. Tikkie scans photos to filter out inappropriate images, but the users in a group are personally responsible for what they upload.
The more fun the better, but the staff at Tikkie do not appreciate offensive or discriminatory content and will not accept this.
If you find someone’s photo offensive, you can delete it from Tikkie by tapping the photo and then the ‘recycle bin’. If you would like to report a photo to us but can no longer find it in your Groepie, you can send us a message on WhatsApp at +31 6 1376 8528. If you delete a photo, the photo is also immediately deleted from Tikkie.
Tikkie reserves the right not to display your photo or to delete it.
